Part of my role as a content designer is editing articles submitted by my clients. Editing can be simple proofreading for spelling errors to heavier copyediting or even deep-dive line editing. My editorial services also include curating complex source materials and then rewriting them concisely and clearly to speak to a wider audience.
I joined NYWICI as its website editor in 2006 and participated in numerous site redesigns as a lead content designer and managing editor. The site was moved from Drupal to WordPress in April 2018. Here are samples of our various homepage redesigns over the years.
The client had a WordPress website that needed to be refreshed but not completely redesigned. The site incorporated two blog feeds from two separate WordPress sites, both with different URLs. The goal was to fold all feeds into one and change visuals and call-to-actions throughout the site.
The school had a very small tech-averse staff and was heavily invested in print advertisements. They needed to redesign their static HTML-based website, which had not been updated for many years, to recruit more students. I built the site on WordPress.
